Don't worry, the world's
actual tallest building still erects stably. But the building claimed to be the
tallest in the world by my little boy did collapse the other day. When he said
sadly to me, "world's tallest building collapsed", I immediately discovered
the 150-storey building he constructed with toy blocks did not follow basic
architectural rules - no foundation was created. I told the little boy,
it doesn't matter, we can build it again. But at the same time I was thinking,
it would be a disaster if the building were for real.
There are many dangerous buildings in the real world. In China, a significant
number of people are still residing in the buildings that could collapse any
time although the government has made great efforts in an attempt to clean up
the situation and renovate the buildings and homes that are in danger. Looking
at the following images of the dangerous building, they are horrifying. |
