As a cost effective alternative to marble carving, glass fiber reinforced
concrete, or GFRC in abbreviation, can be used to carve almost everything that
can be carved in marble, simple or ornamental. Although GFRC does not contain
natural veining textures, which is its disadvantage comparing to marble, its
extremely light weight makes it an ideal choice when weight or load bearing
issue becomes an concern. In this aspect, the GFRC carving also has clear
advantage over cast stone. GFRC carving involves three steps. Firstly, using
clay to carve a model; secondly, creating a mold based on the carved clay
model; and finally, GFRC is casted in the mold to finalize the carving. This
"model mold casting" process makes mass production of GFRC ornaments possible,
especially when our affiliated factories have already had many clay models of
famous carvings available. Glass fiber reinforce concrete carvings
come in two basic colors: off white and cream beige. However, all GFRC
ornaments can be painted to the colors of your choice. List in this page are
just few sample products. We specialize in custom design and
production, which means If you have a design, we will able to convert it into
a product.
