Simple stone fireplace installations are rather straight forward. Each fireplace surround typically comes in five sections: top mantel, bottom hearth, two side columns, front emblem and three or four opening insets. In order to achieve a secured fireplace installation, it is recommended to anchor each stone piece into the back wall and apply commercial marble epoxy at the same time. As an option, anchoring holes can be predrilled if a drawing indicating exact hole locations is provided. Stone fireplace surrounds can be easily cleaned and requires little maintenance. Periodical applications of marble polishers are all you need to do to keep stone fireplace surrounds look new.
